If you want to know true dedication to the Pumpkin King, then hear this. I love Halloween so very, very much that I’m actually giving up marital relations with my wife, known to me as She Who Doesn’t Adore The Wild Mountain Man Look, so I can rock a realistic-looking costume. And, no, I’m not at all kidding. I wish I was. I know. I know. There is something deeply wrong with me. But if I’m going to have a costume, it’s going to be good.
And, with this costume, I can’t just go to the store. I’ve got to reach deep down inside me and do something I haven’t done for a long, long time; grow hair. A lot of hair. No, I’m not going as a Yeti or Sasquatch. I’m actually going as TV star, Jamie Hyneman. Not familiar? How about this? He likes to blow stuff up. A lot. And then claim it’s all in the name of science. With his friend Adam.
Ah, now you get it. That guy. The really bald guy from Mythbusters. The guy with the walrus mustache and the very strange, very thick soul patch. Here. Take a look.

Right. This is the real Jamie.
Yes, there is a certain resemblance between Jamie of Mythbusters and a certain blogger who shall go nameless. Oh, all right. It’s me.
Especially considering that I’m just as bald as he is. In fact, even before this costume idea, my little dudes had already gifted me with a beret, much like the one Jamie habitually wears. So, since the resemblance was there, I figured, why not?
I’ll tell you why not Apparently a certain female someone with whom I share a bed and a bathroom does not believe I should be attempting a slightly longer than normal Fu Manchu, much less a walrus mustache and has vowed that lips covered by a rapidly lengthening curtain of hair shall not touch hers..
Well, I don’t care. (All right. I care a lot, but, darn it, I really want to do this with my own hair. There are so few opportunities like that for me.)
I’ll try to keep you up to date when the walrus starts coming to stay.
